Brushfire

This is my first blog for beginning conversation about my three books, all published within the last five years: "Fire to Light: A Memoir of Family, Race, and War"; "Adventures of the Taylor Boys" (middle school level) and "Gone Looking for America", a sequel to the Fire to Light memoir. As the author, I want to explore with you readers the why, how, when, who and so on about the journey I have taken on the memoirs, and to write, as well, on the children's book I wrote, ten short stories gleaned from the stories I told my son while trying to put him to bed. They are stories that help kids live well in a world that often pressures them to live badly. So, there is a lot to figure out, but also there is the chance to have fun, and learn things, not just from me, but from you.
